We will meet that Saturday morning at McDonald's at Palomar Center located at the intersection of Harrodsburg Road (Rt. 68) and Man o’ War Boulevard. The drive will begin at 9:30 a.m. and tour through the beautiful Bluegrass Region to the rest stop at Country Boy Brewery near Georgetown, KY. Country Boy has brewery tours available that day for $8 per person which includes a pint of beer and a complimentary glass. Pay at the Brewery should you choose to take their tour. Included in our driving tour will be a treasure hunt with cash prizes to be awarded after lunch. The tour will continue to our lunch destination, where we will be treated to a catered lunch at Dale and Edie Torok's Garage Mahal.
The lunch will include fried chicken, fried fish, sliced beef in gravy, potatoes and veggies plus two desserts. Also included in the registration fee is beer, wine, iced tea and soft drinks. After lunch, there will be games available or time for just plain old visiting. Enjoy a front-row seat for the Kentucky Derby on their large screen TV. We will conduct a raffle of Derby horses to be drawn from a hat for matching win, place, show; tickets are $2 each. You may purchase more than one if you like. In addition, we will conduct a 50/50 raffle during and/or after lunch. Tickets will be $2 each or 3 for $5.
Print out the registration form, complete the required information and send it along with payment to Ellyn Katen. The cost for the lunch, including the adult beverages, will be $18 per person. We hope that all our Bash friends will consider making the journey to Lexington to share this day with us. Should you wish to stay overnight in Lexington, we encourage you to book your room now as rooms can be scarce and pricey that weekend; it is both Derby weekend and UK Commencement. A quick check on www.Trivago.com revealed several rooms available in Lexington on May 6th with prices ranging from $75 to $250 or more per night.
Please return the completed registration form, along with a
check or money order, post-marked no later than Monday, May 1, 2017 to:
